If not already a part of your employees’ employment contracts or the contracts with your contractors/consultants, it is crucial you get them in place.
The CIIAA makes sure that any work product generated by your employees and/or contractors actually belong to your startup. You don’t want your valuable IP to be the center-piece of litigation. Mark Zuckerberg had to pay the Winklevoss twins around $200m to settle their claim about the origin of the Facebook idea Winklevoss settles for $200m. Could have been avoided by a CIIAA🙄
The templates here are customized for most startups. In some countries, employment law may limit the effectiveness of these templates. Nevertheless, they are a lot better than no CIIAA at all.
